For those of you who have attended the Chanticleer Authors Conference (CAC) and the Chanticleer Int’l Book Awards (CIBA) Ceremony and Banquet in the past, you know that we tend to do things differently.
We are excited to host the CIBAs in the evenings of VCAC21!
It’s been a long year between the pandemic and the polar vortex that knocked out power for much of the country.
The Chanticleer Authors Conference will take place April 21-24, 2021.
VCAC21 will be held starting on Wednesday, April 21th through SATURDAY, April 24, 2021.
Update on CIBA Ceremonies and the CIBA 2020 Grand Prize Ceremony
FINALISTS will be recognized April 22-24, 2021 at 6 p.m. PST
We have something to crow about! Join us IN PERSON and LIVE hybrid CIBA Ceremonies event,
June 5, 2021! Link to Register will be posted after VCAC21.
Join us for the CIBAs Ceremonies on June 5, 2021 streaming LIVE and IN PERSON at the Hotel Bellwether on the beautiful Bellingham Bay, in Washington state. During this exciting event we will announce the First Place and Grand Prize CIBA Division Winners along with the first ever SHORTS winners and the FICTION SERIES Awards for the 2020 CIBA Divisions for 2020.
With all the excitement of planning the Virtual Chanticleer Authors Conference, we can’t begin to say how much we miss all of you. During our Roost Happy Hours, you have expressed the desire to be together again. We feel the same. By June 5, all of us at Chanticleer Headquarters will be fully vaccinated, thanks to the efficient vaccine roll-out happening in Washington State. This is happening much faster than we had anticipated!
We believe it’s worth the short delay to be together and celebrate you, our wonderful authors and your outstanding works, safely. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this conversation and offered your support as we made this decision.
We are eager to see you at the Virtual Chanticleer Authors Conference 4/21-4/24, which will also be LIVE broadcast from the Hotel Bellwether.
We cannot wait to see you IN PERSON for the FREE CIBAs Ceremony in June!
THE SCHEDULE FOR THE 2020 FINALIST CEREMONIES WILL BE POSTED SOON!
The Chanticleer Book Awards Ceremony will be held in multiple VIRTUAL Ceremonies. Finalists will be announced every evening from 6-8pm PST, and then we will announce our First Place and Grand Prize winners in a special ceremony June 5th, 2021 at a HYBRID Live and IN PERSON event!
A Week to Remember…and Recognition in the Chanticleer Reviews quarterly print magazine.
All First Place and Grand Prize Winners will be recognized in the 2021 FALL Edition Chanticleer Magazine.
All Shorts FINALISTS will be recognized in the 2022 WINTER Issue of the Chanticleer Reviews magazine.
All First Place and Grand Prize Series Winners will be recognized in the 2022 SPRING Issue of the Chanticleer Reviews magazine.
2020 VIRTUAL CEREMONIES at CAC 21
First Rounds will recognize the Finalists per Division and announce the First Place Category Award Winners.
The Grand Prize Winners for each Division and the OVERALL Grand Prize Winner will be announced on Sunday, September 13th at 5:30 p.m. PST.

...And the Awards Dinner! I can’t say enough about it. It was fantastic. Like attending the Oscars. Everything – all weekend – was so well done and thought out and ran so smoothly, you’d think Chanticleer had an army of 100 working for them. All of this against a beautiful water view setting in Bellingham, Washington. 2020 CIBAs will be held VIRTUALLY April 22 – 25, 2021 due to the Coronavirus Pandemi.
Nothing is better than being called up on stage to accept you blue ribbon for winning first place in a genre category while a sea of authors applauds your achievement–except perhaps being in the audience when your name is announced as a Grand Prize Winner.
Authors from around the world will be honored at our gala and awards banquet. Will you be one of them?
If you have been chosen as a semifinalist, you owe it to yourself to be there so that you can celebrate your victory properly, in the company of your peers where you can smile, wave and have your photo taken with your ribbon and the glow of success beaming on your face.
Tickets are available as part of your Chanticleer Authors Conference package. Guest Tickets are available for attendees who wish to bring friends and family, just send us an email once you register. Winner or spectator, everyone loves being a part of this extravaganza of the year’s best books.
