For those of you who have attended the Chanticleer Authors Conference (CAC) and the Chanticleer Int’l Book Awards (CIBA) Ceremony and Banquet in the past, you know that we tend to do things differently.
We are excited to host the 2022 CIBAs Announcements on Friday and Saturday evenings of CAC23!
We are excited to come together from all over the globe this SPRING!
CAC23 will be held starting on THURSDAY, April 27th through SUNDAY, April 30th, 2023.
The 2022 CIBA Finalists will be honored on Friday Evening, April 28th.
The 2022 Finalists will be recognized and the First Place and Grand Prize Winners will be Announced
at the CIBA Banquet and Awards Ceremony on Saturday, April 29th, 2023.
Schedule of Events and Menus
at CAC 23 (as of April 126, 2023)
You will receive a Google Form asking you for your Plated Food Choices. Please respond by Monday, April 17th.

- Thursday, April 27th – Books to Film & TV workshop with Maggie Marr, 1:30 – 4:30 Compass Room (Tea and Coffee will be provided)
Be sure to meet with other attendees in the Fireside Lounge at the Hotel Bellwether — a great place to chat Thursday evening!
- Friday, April 28th – Registration Opens at 8:30 a.m. at the Hotel Bellwether Ballroom
- Sessions start at 9:10 a.m.
- Coffee and Tea will be available in the Ballroom
- Cash Bar will be available during lunch and dinners
- Luncheon will present a Keynote Speaker
- Friday Lunch Buffet will be tender Carolina Barbecue Chicken and savory Pulled Pork
- with Roasted Corn and Caesar Salad
- paired with classic BBQ Baked Beans, tangy Coleslaw, and fresh Brioche Buns
- Seasoned Tempeh will be the Vegetarian Protein Option
- Red Velvet Cake for Dessert
- Cocktail/Networking Party – Cash Bar opens at 5:30
- Appetizers served at six in the evening
- The Penny Stinkers (local PNW band) sets up
- Friday Plated and Served Dinner
- Keynote Speaker: Maggie Marr
- Your Choice of Grilled Beef Top Sirloin with chimichurri
- OR Roasted Chicken Breast with Wild Mushroom Jus
- Starting with a Caesar Salad with hearts of romaine, shaved parmesan, croutons, and Caesar dressing
- Black Cherry Wild Rice and Green Beans and Carrots sides
- Vegetarian Option is Stuffed Cauliflower with Cashew Stuffed Cauliflower with Tart Cherry Wild Rice, Sundried Tomato Relish, Roasted Red Pepper sauce on the side
- Dinner Rolls and Coffee/Tea Station
- The Dessert Bar will feature fresh Lemon Bars and an assortment of cookies
- Cash Bar will be OPEN
Will there be LIVE MUSIC? YES on Friday after the Seated Dinner!
Immediately after dinner, the Penny Stinkers High Energy Party Band will entertain us with great music! They are Kiffer’s fav local band – fun to dance and sing along with!
Cash Bar will be open!
SATURDAY, April 29, 2023
- Saturday, April 29th – Registration Opens at 8:30 a.m. at the Hotel Bellwether Ballroom
- Sessions start at 9:10 a.m.
- Coffee and Tea will be available in the Ballroom
- Cash Bar will be available during lunch and dinners
- Luncheon will present a Keynote Speaker
- Saturday Plated Lunch will be a Chicken Chopped Salad
- Dinner Salad with romaine hearts, chickpeas, bacon, blue cheese, onions, cucumber, tomatoes and peas. Buttermilk dressing
- Vegetarian and Vegan Variants of Chopped Salad are available
- Garlic Bread
- Dessert will be a refreshing Lemon Cake
- Cocktail/Networking Party – Cash Bar opens at 5:30
- Appetizers available at six in the evening

...And the Awards Dinner! I can’t say enough about it. It was fantastic. Like attending the Oscars. Everything – all weekend – was so well done and thought out and ran so smoothly, you’d think Chanticleer had an army of 100 working for them. All of this against a beautiful water view setting in Bellingham, Washington. Authors from around the world will be honored at our gala and awards banquet. Will you be one of them?
If you have been chosen as a semifinalist, you owe it to yourself to be there so that you can celebrate your victory properly, in the company of your peers where you can smile, wave and have your photo taken with your ribbon and the glow of success beaming on your face.
